Swiss Shield® yarns are manufactured by means of a patented process. Thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, the most varied and product-specific customer requirements can be factored in. Their possible applications are many and varied. The spectrum of applications for Swiss Shield® yarns includes:
A gossamer-thin, integrated metallic monofilament gives Swiss Shield® fabric its shielding effect.
The yarn count ranges from extremely fine (over 100 Nm) all the way to the coarsest count.
Numerous materials can be employed as the base for Swiss Shield® yarns. From cotton to artificial fibres such as polyester, polyamide, aramids and the like.
The monofilament can be made from copper, bronze, silver, gold, aluminium, inox or other conductive materials.
The surface of the monofilament can be selected from either an insulating or an electrically conductive type.
Swiss Shield® yarns form the basis for the manufacture of high-quality textile fabric with specifically variable characteristics.
The degree of shielding provided by Swiss Shield® textiles can be matched to the respective requirements and may range from a few dB to over 50 dB. These values are achieved at total, horizontal and/or vertical polarization.
Swiss Shield® yarns can be worked into extremely fine (40 g/m2) to heavy (over 250 g/m2) fabrics. The textile characteristics are variable according to application.
Swiss Shield® textiles are as simple to process as normal fabrics (sewing, gluing, coating, mounting, laminating, etc.).
